Front Street Pictures,
Ashley Williams, Teddy Sears, Holly Robinson Peete, Jaeda Lily Miller, Marcus Rosner, Barbara Niven, Malcolm Stewart, Keith Martin Gordey
Allie Shaw (Ashley Williams) is from a little town in Vermont named Evergreen. Evergreen is another one of those little towns that just loves Christmas. Allie is a veterinarian and has always run the town’s Christmas Pageant. But she passed this year as she plans to move to Washington to be with her long time boyfriend Spencer (Marcus Rosner) and to a new job in a large clinic. Meanwhile, Ryan, (Teddy Sears) and his little girl Zoe (Jaeda Lily Miller) are on their way to Florida for a Christmas cruise to get away from the pain of losing Zoe’s Mom on the previous Christmas. Ryan and Zoe are also stranded, so Allie offers to bring them back to Evergreen as there are no rooms open in the city since the airport is closed. When things begin to warm up between Allie and Ryan, Spencer joins them to convince Allie to come to Washington. All this and a magical snow globe bring us the merriest of Christmas movies.
This is a very well done Christmas film with just about everything you could ask for. If you love Christmas romance movies, then you can’t miss with this one, that’s for sure. Ashley Williams is really good and gives a great performance. The rivalry between the guys is well played out too, but Jaeda Lily Miller really steals the show with a wonderful performance as a little girl who just wants to remember Christmas as it was instead of running away like her father is trying to do. She is really charming and an excellent little actress with a bright future. But the cast is rounded out by a number of other interesting characters. The downside of this film is that it is very predictable, but that’s as it has to be. If you’re looking with something with a bit more challenge, then this probably isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for another extremely well done Christmas movie with all the movie cliche’s, this is perhaps the best one I’ve seen this year.

Tom Norris (Marcus Rosner) is a noted Olympic hockey player with an ex-wife, Mary Hamilton (Anita Brown) who was America’s Sweetheart when she was an Olympic figure skater, and a young daughter Sadie (Jaeda Lily Miller) who adores both of them. Mary has written a book on marriage and is on a book tour trying to sell the book, and she wants Tom to come back home and pretend to be getting back together for the sake of book sales. The problem is that Tom is in a relationship with a charming firefighter named Jenny (Anna Hutchison) and playing happy husband and wife is not acceptable to either Tom or Jenny. But Mary has money and power and is ready to use Sadie as a weapon to force him to do her will.
The title of this film “Firehouse Christmas” is misleading. This is a rich, complex film with a lot of things going on in many levels. The firehouse connection is really slim. I kind of expected a lonely firefighter with a dog falling in love with a lonely lady who has a thing for firemen. What a surprise and a delight this story was. There are plenty of back stories. There is a lot of complications as things go hysterically awry. There a quite a few problems going on at once, and together they are a rather funny. It’s also quite touching on many levels. The characters are very well played and it’s a good strip. Special kudos to Jaeda Lily Miller who is wonderfully sassy and charming at the same time in her role. She’s wonderful. If you get a chance to see this film, it’s well worth the time spent. I enjoyed this one a lot.
Here is the ION TV web page for this 2016 premier movie.

Front Street Pictures, Side Street Post,
Candace Cameron Bure, Paul Greene, Sarah Strange, Alisson Amigo, Mark Brandon, Kaj-Erik Eriksen,
David Lewis, Mackenzie Mowat, Barbara Niven, Edwin Perez, Marcus Rosner, Ingrid Tesch, Andrea Ware, Nelson Wong
Paige Summerlind (Candace Cameron Bure) is a shaky bride-to-be with the perfect fiance. She has yet to meet his parents, and they’re rich and old fashioned, so they’ve scheduled a meeting with her in New York City. But during the flight, the pilot informs them that the New York airports are closed due to a bad winter storm, and so they are diverted to Buffalo. But as soon as the NYC airports reopen, Buffalo is getting hit by the storm of the century. Meanwhile, her seatmate Dylan (Paul Greene) is driving her crazy with his attitude. Turns out he’s had his heart broken not long ago and is anti-relationship. But the only way Paige has a chance of making it to NYC is to hitch a ride in the last available 4-Wheel Drive jeep in Buffalo with Dylan and a bickering couple really down on marriage who are trying to talk her out of it.
Since Dancing With the Stars, Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKeller have had a little rivalry going. I’m afraid Danica edged her out this Christmas with “Crown for Christmas”. But this “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” for Christmas was pretty good. Last year, Candace blew her away by a mile. Candace has been doing some really great films each year, and is certainly the one star that I look for each Christmas. This film was good, had a lot of humor, and I did enjoy it very much. But it didn’t have the spark that the others had. Still it’s a clever story, and it suits her style. The situation was humorous, and we figured the two would get together in the end. This is my second favorite of the Hallmark films for 2015, and well worth watching. It will be repeated all through the season.
