Martha Evans (Kristy Swnason) is a mom who was abandoned by her good for nothing husband leaving her with 3 children (including a stepson). They’re virtually homeless and have nothing. She leaves town to apply for a job at a rural diner, but the widow who owns the diner is in financial trouble since her husband died. But even though she meets some wonderful people in the town, things keep getting worse. The car is broken down, and the ex-husband shows up to take his son which brings her to the lowest point in her life. What she’s looking for for Christmas is an answer to her most sincere prayers.

This is a somewhat religious film that has a charming story. Just when we reach the lowest point is when we need a little help. This sad story very clearly makes this point. It’s a heartwarming story, and very touching. Some people may be put off by the religious element, although that’s just a part of the story. It’s still very real, and very poignant. This is brand new Christmas film for 2011 and is being shown on the Hallmark channel. It probably won’t be available until next year, but you can find it on TV this year. There are a ton of movies with the same name, but this one is 2011.

A Christmas Wish pretty much sums up what the holidays are all about, and what a real Christmas story should be like. I really enjoyed it, and it was especially nice to see a new film that I haven’t seen before. Well worth looking out for this one.
