Laura Vandervoort, Nick Zano, Paula Brancati, John Bregar, Patrick Garrow

Jennifer (Laura Vandervoort is the PR Manager for a small South Boston Mall which is on the chopping block. While thinking of how to save the mall and increase sales, she comes up with the idea of having a “Sexy Santa” contest, and have the mall with the best looking Santa anywhere. The winner is David (Nick Zano) that works with his Dad at a pizza Parlor. While David is bringing the ladies in by the truckload, feelings are obviously present between him and Jennifer. But Jennifer is holding a secret that is bound to cause problems when David finds out what she’s hiding.

This is a brand new 2011 ABC Family Christmas movie. The good part is that it’s new and we haven’t seen it before. But the bad news is that it’s not very remarkable. The film is pretty superficial. We’ve seen lots of other similar stories that have a lot more going for them than this one does. It is probably good for the targeted demographic of ABC Family, younger teens, especially girls. But for grown ups, it seems the actors just mail in their performances. There isn’t any real emotion coming out, and it appears that the characters are willing to just let whatever happens, happen. Que Sera Sera would be a good alternate title for this film. Good for the younger and mid teens, but not much to recommend it to anyone beyond that.

Here’s a short clip from the film.
