Bruce Greenwood, Noel Fisher, Linda Emond, Sonja Bennett

Todd McCray (Noel Fisher) is a mentally handicapped young man who just loves animals. He lives with his parents, George (Bruce Greenwood) and Mary Ann (Linda Emond) in a rural town. Todd loves animals, and wants to help. When he hears of the “adopt a dog” program at the animal shelter, he sets out to promote and convince folks in the town to embrace the program and find a home for the dogs.

This is a very interesting film. I really liked it. Noel did an excellent job with his role. He played it just right. The dynamics of the family was very interesting. It turns out Dad has issues with dogs. (I wondered why a guy who lived on a farm would be so adamant about not having a dog, but we learn as time goes on). But the dog, Christmas, is a wonderful actor. He brings a lot to the story, and is truly a main character. It was very touching, and just like a 90 minute Lassie episode! 🙂

This is a fine Christmas story with good values and a lot of heart. I highly recommend this film. It’s a really good one.
