This is an extremely sad movie! Julie (Linda Hamilton) finds out her jerk of a husband is having an affair with a 27 year old. She and her daughter move out as the husband wants the house in the settlement. Then it’s better that her daughter stay with Dad and stay in her own school, so then she’s alone. Then a mugging and she loses he purse, her money, her credit cards, and before she knows it she’s sleeping in her car. Everywhere she turns is a dead end.
But this is a Christmas movie, so you know it’s not going to end this way. It’s going to take a lot of determination, and some new friends are all she needs to save the day. Putting together a company on her own, she not only may be able to help herself, but many other people in similar situations.
Linda Hamilton is awesome in this movie, although I will admit that it’s a whole lot easier to take this film if you’re a woman. If you’re a man, be prepared to be beaten over the head with how awful and useless men are. Certainly this an excellent story of Christmas, and much more.
