A stranger, Nick (Patrick Breen) knocks at the door of a lonely house filled with a dark family with a past violent secret. He asks to stay the night due to car problems, but it appears he has his own sinister plans. This dysfunctional family is hiding their past, but the more Nick digs, the more he finds out what he doesn’t want to know.

This is not the creepiest of all horror films, and it’s definitely low budget. But it is an interesting concept that develops. We don’t really know a lot about Nick’s intentions. He appears to be a nice Christian man, wishing the best on everyone, but he’s a little too nice and a little too good. Then we learn that he didn’t arrive by accident. There are many layers to this story, and it sucks you in pretty fast. This is the most screwed up family since the gang from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and there is a good reason why the whole town avoids them at all costs. For a low budget film, it’s relatively decently done, and a fun experience to watch it. I’ve seen a lot worse from the discount bin, and this one is available for streaming. It’s not pure horror, but it’s suspenseful enough to keep it rolling. I can recommend this one for a cold October evening.
