** A Christmas Melody

Brad Krevoy Television, Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), New Line Cinema,

Lacey Chabert, Mariah Carey, Brennan Elliott, Fina Strazza, Kathy Najimy, Kevin Chamberlin, Tifani Ahren Davis, Raelle Wilson, Katie Eichler, Alexa Glaser, Torie Wiggins, William Willet, Jim Gloyd

Kristen Parson (Lacey Chabert) and her daughter Emily (Fina Strazza) have moved back home to the town where Kristen’s family was from. Things are tough and Emily’s having a hard time making friends at her new school. But one of her best is music teacher Danny Collier (Brennan Elliott) who agrees to let her try out for the Christmas Pageant regardless of the fact that auditions are closed, much to the chagrin of Melissa Anderson (Mariah Carey) a very strong willed stage mom who insists her daughter is the star of the play. When Emily and Danny put together a new song for Emily to sing, music brings the whole town back to the real meaning of Christmas and fills the town with love.

This was advertised as a Mariah Carey film, but it’s not. It’s a Lacey Chabert film, and that’s just fine because Lacey kills on these Christmas films and always has. Mariah has a small part, but it’s kind of funny and really the whol purspose of this film was to introduce Mariah’s new Christmas song for 2015 “Oh, Santa”

This is not a huge film, but it does have some big guns behind it like New line Cinema who I normally don’t see on a TV Christmas film, but it’s filled with Christmas cheer and Fina Strazza is awesome! I enjoyed this film and I am glad I got a chance to see it.
