This is a good old fashioned American Family that is in pain. The Boyajiians have not celebrated Christmas in 11 years. Their son was a hero, a volunteer who went to Iraq to fight the first Gulf War and did not return. Since it happened at Christmas, the family had no desire to celebrate Christmas again. This year their daughter has a medical scare and they’re waiting for the news, good or bad. Mom wants answers as to why her son was taken and blames his Dad for forcing him into his choices. Dad feels the guilt, and worries that it was his fault. Suddenly Dad has an urge to do Christmas again, and all the folks in the town are glad to have him back. Then a stranger arrives at their door with mysterious circumstances. Is it real, or is it a scam, or is it a miracle? Whatever it is, this is strong story of loss and renewal, leaving the past behind, and moving on. It’s a very good story, and very strong message. The acting is excellent, and it’s told very well.
