Not to be confused with the 1991 feature film with the same title, this is the story of 10 year old Jesse’s (Jimmy ‘Jax’ Pinchak) attempt to help widowed mother, Sara, enters a national essay contest.  Jesse wins with his essay “All I Want For Christmas is a Husband for my Mom”, but there are unforeseen consequences.  Those with the most to gain decide to fulfill Jesse’s wish but not in the way he intended.

The real guy has been there all along, but is just to shy to say or do anything about it, and Sara is soon ready to be engaged to a rich playboy whom she doesn’t love.  He’s got motives (typical things like sending the boy away to a  military school) and is trying to win points with his father by granting the kid’s wish, but it’s no good.  Meanwhile, Mom is sucked into it trying to provide a good life for her son regardless of her feelings.

It’s a bit contrived, and the kid is a bit annoying.  It doesn’t really click for me, so it’s not one of my favorites, but it’s not too bad. This is one I would skip unless there is nothing better to watch.
