This is a touching story of a man whose life is crumbling around him.  He is estranged from  his father, lost his fiance, and is going through hard times everywhere.  He meets a guy who invites him to a shelter run by a cranky nun played by Rhea Perlman.  Touched by the men who live there, he gets the idea to start a choir so the men can make a few bucks singing in the subway.

This is based on a true story.  This is more of a story of second chances and forgiveness that it is about the choir itself,  and it touches the heart strings.  Starting the choir was more about him than it was about the guys he was trying to help, and he had to find out the hard way to appreciate the things he had.  Rhea Perlman was good as the crotchety Sister Agatha, and she was quite believable.  It’s not the greatest story of the year or anything, but there are lots of reasons to give this one a try for Christmas.
